- RULES: This race will be governed by the Rules as defined in The Racing Rules of Sailing. The Rules of the 2025 CYOA Classic Yachts Challenge Series, except as may have been modified herein or by the Sailing Instructions, will apply for boats participating in that Series. - STARTING TIME: The anticipated time for the Warning signal for the start of the first class of the race is 1145 hrs.
- RACING AREA: The race will be on Penobscot Bay, Maine.
- LIABILITIES: Sailing is an activity that has an inherent risk of damage and injury. Competitors in this event are participating entirely at their own risk. See RRS Rule 3, Decision to Race. The race organizers, race committee, protest committee, volunteers, sponsors, agents, employees, or any other organization or official providing services at the request of any of the foregoing in connection with the events will not be responsible for damage to any boat or other property or the injury to any person sustained as a result of participation in this event. By participating in this event, each competitor (owners, skippers and crew) agrees to release the race organizers, and all persons and groups listed above from any and all liability associated with such competitor’s participation in this event to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Spirit of Classic Yacht Races: These three races epitomize the best of sportsmanship and safe sailing. They are “fun” races of old, priceless, classic yachts, many of which do not regularly race competitively. In this spirit, all skippers are expected to sail conservatively and avoid dangerous situations. Indicate your intentions and, if in doubt, give way.
To assist us in planning these events, please register by July 22nd. To register for the Camden Classic Yacht Race to Brooklin or for the Eggemoggin Reach Regatta, please refer to camdenyachtclub.org and eggemogginreachregatta.com, respectively. If you have any questions, please contact us.
